A Scientist’s Journey from Lab Bench to Computational Innovation
Dr. Moshtagh’s career has been dedicated to understanding the brain’s complexities. His journey began with a prestigious PhD in Neuroscience from SISSA, Italy, where he built a strong foundation in systems neuroscience.
His postdoctoral research took him to a trio of world-leading institutions: the University of Washington, University College London (UCL), and King’s College London. In these demanding environments, he investigated the frontiers of neural circuit dynamics, visual processing, and retinal degeneration. It was here that he gained deep, hands-on experience with the very techniques our clients use today, from high-density microelectrode arrays (MEAs) to advanced fluorescence imaging.
Across these labs, he saw a recurring challenge: the gap between brilliant experimental design and the complex computational power needed to analyse the resulting data. This inspired him to master the tools that could bridge that gap, developing AI-driven data pipelines and becoming an expert in Python and MATLAB to decode complex neural signals.
He founded Neurosig based on a clear vision: to be the expert partner that handles the technical burden of data analysis and experimental setup, allowing researchers and clinicians to focus on what they do best—driving discovery.
